What is it about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

The electrifying sequel to the International Bestseller Variant Lost.

Bradford Hills feels more like home than any other place Evelyn Maynard and her mother lived while on the run. But with everyone reeling from the violent clash between Variants and humans, her new home doesn’t feel safe any more.

Navigating four increasingly complicated supernatural bonds in secret doesn’t help. Ethan and Josh can’t keep their hands off her. Tyler is supportive, but continues to keep her at arm’s length. Alec has both saved and destroyed her yet seems oblivious to the turmoil he’s caused.

As tensions between Variants and humans continue to escalate, dark and dangerous secrets keep creating seemingly insurmountable challenges.

Who’s kidnapping Vitals?
What was Evelyn’s mom running from?
Will it ever be safe for Evelyn to go public with her true identity?

More deadly answers are coming, whether she’s ready for them or not.

Thoughts

There are a few book series out there that I will read again and again…. and the Evelyn Maynard trilogy has made that list. While Book 1 swept us into this world, book 2 fully immerses us and amps up the action, tension, romance and intrigue.

Evie is a FMC full of determination and zeal, a character we can both relate to and empathize with, despite her otherworldly abilities. Her bondmates, each so different and unique, add layers to this complex narrative while driving the overarching plot ever forward. Book 2 finds their bonds deepening and the light between them strengthening, even as some members of the quintet struggle against the truth of their pairings.

This novel gives answers while spawning just as many questions – questions book 3 will hopefully answer with its publication sometime in mid 2019. Personally, I can’t wait to see how this compelling tale plays out, and I eagerly recommend this series to any and all fans of PNR’s, or Urban Fantasies books with strong female leads and Alpha makes with heart.
