Down & Dirty

Somehow, deep into a saga of a Shifter series, the plot is STILL thickening and questions still swirl. Events are moving faster and answers look far away – free on Kindle Unlimited.

What is it about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

I’ll do anything to protect my men and my pack.

Even if I have to leave them all behind.

The witches want to cure me of being a shifter. The wolves want to kill me for being a witch. I don’t belong in either world.
But at least I’m useful.

The Alpha Council sends me on a special mission to infiltrate The Day. But there are two terrible conditions the council sets for me to find my warlock father and fight The Day:
1. I have to go alone,
2. I have to make sure my men don’t follow.

Because my fated mates’ protectiveness and passion might make them follow me right into the chaos, first I need to kiss them goodbye…and poison them behind their backs. The potion they drink will destroy their feelings for me.

I said I’d make any sacrifice for them.

Now I’ve sacrificed their love to save their lives.

Will we find our way back together?

Or is what I’ve done…Unforgivable?

Thoughts on Unforgivable

Not since Book 1, have I been more aggravated and annoyed with Maddie…. ugh!!! I get it, I understand, considering the ‘big picture’ aspect that she is thinking about, but come on girl! Choices matter. In one swift move, our main female character rips away what has been built over the last few books, leaving her crew – and the reader, reeling, just as she descends into the hell of snakes and vipers that is the Day.

It’s crazy, fast paced and a bit confusing at times. Like all May Dawson sagas, things only grow complicated and complex as the series moves on. Certain things are resolved, but so many other things are left up in the air – or set up to explode in Book 5!

Thankfully, we DO get a few answers in this installment, some resolutions and a few things smoothed over. Silas, that lovely if somewhat duplicitous Wizard, is found…. though I won’t spoil how THAT goes down. Let’s just say, he lives up to his ‘Incredible’ title, and lands in an even more precarious spot. Then there’s Ty…. who is just breaking my heart. Or Rafe! OK, so there is just TOO MUCH in this book to talk about, answers to be found, plots to thicken, questions to ask and dangers to face.

In other words, it’s a May Dawson book…. and things are getting dicey.

*I received an ARC of this book and am Thrilled to share my honest opinion*

Pros:

  • Dynamic writing that weaves and flows, twisting up the characters and the readers. I don’t quite know what is going on, but I’m not complaining about it.
  • Rafe!! He may be my favorite… stubborn fool.
  • The moment when the Title makes sense. Ugh.
  • The Headmaster, surprisingly enough.

Cons:

  • There is almost TOO much going on.
  • For the first time, Maddie really DOES

My Final Verdict on Unforgivable

Maddie’s story is weaving, wrapping around the characters while somehow in a permanent state of flux. Questions are asked, a few answers are given and the plot, already complicated and dense, somehow gets even more complex… leading up to what promises to be an explosive Book 5!
