Down & Dirty
Deidra’s adventure comes to a close with this third and final installment in May Dawson’s Academy of the Supernatural Series. Fast, explosive and just hot enough to steam, it’s free on Kindle Unlimited.
What is it about?
(Blurb From GoodReads)
The Hunters’ academy wants me to be their pet angel on a leash, killing on order.
The demons want to use my powerful body to host the devil himself.
What do I want?
I want to protect my sister, my friends, and most of all, Nix, Cade and Tristan, from the chaos that follows everywhere I go.
My path is marked in blood.
But it won’t be their blood.
I’ll serve the academy one last time, and slay the demons. Alone. That’s the only way to end this.
But it turns out Cade, Nix and Tristan won’t let me go…
If they follow me into hell, can I save them?
Will they pull me back from the edge and save me?
Thoughts on Their Dark Imaginings
Picking up right where Book 2 left off, Deidra is stalking the halls of the Academy…. with a bloody head in tow. That opening scene should give you a clear idea of what’s in store in this action packed PNR adventure, though an underlying message may also be ‘growth and maturity’.
ALL the characters grow in this installment, finding their own inner strengths and facing the insecurities that plague them, from Deidra’s fear of abandonment to the closed off emotions that haunt the guys. It’s intense at times, as well as eye-opening and even a bit brutal.
The demons take a starring role, though it’s not quite as much as one would think, considering that we now know what they want Deidra for. The demons matter…. but in the end, it doesn’t really feel like they are what this story is all about, or really that important in the full scope of the plot. If I had to sum up the entire meaning and message, I suppose it would be “Family”…. and not just the family made by blood.
*I received an ARC of this book and I am happy to share my honest opinion!*
Pros:
- Character development.
- CADE! The man finally steps up and admits what the heck he really wants!
- Family is the name of the game and the most important thing here, and not that of blood.
- Suitable HEA.
- World building is obviously far stretching.
Cons:
- I still have questions… her dad? The remaining 3 years at the Academy? What’s the real deal with Malcom?
- Final battle seemed… rather mundane?
Perspective:
First Person, Multiple POV
Rating:
R
Ending Type:
HEA
Romantic Dynamic:
MMMF
Character Age Range:
18+
My Final Verdict on Their Dark Imaginings

A fitting end to an exciting series, one that brings the characters both growth and love… and the possibilities for spin offs. Free on Kindle Unlimited.
