The Hidden

(Shadowed Wings – #1)

by Ivy Asher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fantasy RH Medium Burn
Available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited

Since The Shadowed Wings Series is now complete, with third and final book in this saga Reclamation, published, I thought a look back at where it all began would be good. Mind you, I am neck deep in rereads atm, I reread this series, then got half way through Reclamation and had to stop and backtrack to reread Vinna’s story as I hadn’t read the fourth book in that story, even though it’s on my Kindle…. sigh. 🤷‍♀️  But I need to go back, as these series overlap!

Down and Dirty

This is a FANTASTIC start to a now completed series – but what else can you expect from Ivy Asher? Fast, fun and intense, this Fantasy is Free on Kindle Unlimited!

What is The Hidden about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

I am a latent wolf shifter.
Or so I thought.

Then life as I knew it changed in a flash—or more accurately, an electrocution.

I’ve woken up in a strange place, surrounded by strange people who hate me. They’re in the middle of a war, and I look like I belong on the wrong side of it.

If that’s not enough to qualify as a really bad day, I now have wings and a strange animal to figure out, because it turns out that there’s not a damn latent thing about me.

If I want to live, I have to prove that I’m not the spy I’m accused of being. Then I need to figure out how the fuck to get back home before all hell breaks loose. Too bad my animal has zero interest in working with me unless it has to do with the two hot assholes that lead this rebel group.

I’m on my own, in a place I’ve never even heard of, with threats I don’t know how to defeat. And lucky me, I might as well have a rotisserie chicken living inside of me for all the help my newly discovered gryphon is.

Perfect. Just fucking perfect.

Thoughts on The Hidden

This one rips and rolls through a new world, bringing us magic and gryphons in a complicated and well written tale that ends on a cliffhanger. Ugh!!! 😂 A great one though, danger, intrigue and betrayal – it’s all here and it’s just heating up!

Favorite Lines

I want a hot hook up, not a slow and sensual lesson in the merits of the karma sutra. (2%)
“I wanted a good fuck, but at this point, my hand is more likely to give me that than you are,” I answer simply and motion out the open doorway. (2%)
I take a step back, intent on fleeing up the stairs and away from The Ghost of Christmas No Fucking Thank You, (67%)
“A word is never bad, but bad things can be done with words, and we must make sure that we keep ourselves and others from doing that.” (83%)

Pros:

  • Very well written.
  • Who is she?
