The Forgotten
(Their Champion Companion Novel – 1)
by K.A. Knight
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Dystopian, Medium Burn RH, Spin Off
Available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited
Down & Dirty
This is a Spin off of the popular, and brutal, Their Champion Series… a view from the other side – though equally as brutal and damaging. Fast, angry and rather beautiful, it’s free on Kindle Unlimited.
What is it about?
(Blurb from GoodReads)
The rules of Paradise are simple:
Everyone must work. Everyone must contribute. If you leave, you may never come back. Paradise is the new world, to question that is to question the law.
They have been drilled into us since the world ended and those bunker doors shut.
So why can’t I stop dreaming of more?
With my eighteenth birthday and the selection approaching, I must decide what role I will take within our community. But when I am betrayed by the very people I was brought up to trust and left for dead in The Wasteland this world has become, I decide to leave for good. Decide to leave the only man I’ve ever loved and the only home I’ve ever known.
Everyday will be a fight for survival, but for once in my life, I finally feel free…if only my heart would accept that.
Author’s Note:
*18+ Reverse Harem Romance. Warning this book contains scenes and references of abuse/assault that some readers may find triggering. Along with graphic sex scenes and violence*
My Thoughts on The Forgotten
Halfway through The Cities, I had to stop and grab this book from Kindle Unlimited, as Piper pops up there and it’s obvious her connection to certain characters is key – though Their Champion is Worth’s story.
This companion novel is, in a word, brutal. From Paradise, Piper is living the wasteland dream, until she is betrayed in the most horrific fashion, and finds herself rescued from certain death and hustled to The Forgotten. It’s rough, almost beautiful and incredibly captivating. Piper is NOT like Worth, this isn’t a duplicate tale with different faces. No, her personality and grit are all her own.
Perspective:
First Person, Single POV
Ending Type:
Cliffhanger
Rating:
R. Please pay attention to the Trigger Warnings.
Romantic Dynamic:
MMMF
Character Age Range:
18+
My Final Verdict on The Forgotten
Violent, brutal and emotionally full, this is a companion novel that stands on it’s own. Piper is charming, robust and snarky enough to fit in almost anywhere in the Wastes, though her general toughness is going to be tested in ways no one should accept. Free on Kindle Unlimited.
