Down and Dirty

Sweet and funny, a definite buy

What is it about?

Cassidy is just another victim of corporate downsizing when the factory she works at is sold to an international buyer, leaving her and around 400 of her co-workers out of a job. In their small town, that kind of lay off is devastating, especially to the citizens of her little neighborhood, Violet Circle… though everyone calls it Violent Circle. It’s a crazy place…you should visit!

Fortunately, a good word and a kind ear sends Cassidy looking in the direction of a new store slowly being outfitted in a strip mall, a store with blacked out windows. One inquiry later and Cassidy finds herself the sparkling new Manager of Scarlet Toys, an Adult Toy shop that is setting up shop in their less than accepting town. The best part? Said Toy shop is owned by the deliciously handsome, and perfectly off limits, Wyatt Lawson.

Thoughts:

Can a story about a sex shop and the people who run it be heartwarming? Why yes, yes it can. Hysterical and pun happy, this novel speeds through a romance that will leave you smiling. It’s slightly harlequin, with a far more adult feel – and much hotter when it needs to be.

Perspective:

First Person, Single POV

Ending Type:

HEA

Pros:

  • Very, very funny – Violent Circle is a literal riot!
  • Heart warming.
  • Little cheesy, and I like my true romances a bit cheesy.
  • Sweet.
  • Butt plugs… butt plugs everywhere. But they never get used. What’s with that? 😂🤷‍♀️

Cons:

  • Nothing really, it’s sweet. No big drama or danger, just a lively and lovely romance that blossoms in its own time.

Favorite Line

(There were quite a few, but this one caught me – and it is literally THE FIRST LINE OF THE BOOK!)

Have you ever had a day where it feels like you’re holding a stick and everyone around you looks like a piñata? (1%)

Verdict

4 out of 5 Stars

Sweet and funny as hell. Buy this.
