What is it about?
(Blurb from GoodReads)
He shares a face with the perfect specimen. Together, they’ll reshape a divided nation… or shatter it completely.
Years as an assassin taught Zara to steel her heart against weakness. But she believes no creature deserves to be caged and prodded… much less the man who embodies human perfection. Against her better judgment, she ditches a recon mission to spring him free. She wasn’t counting on a powerful empath joining the chase…
Doctor Danyael Sabre hides his healing powers in plain sight. With tensions between unmodified humans and mutants intensifying, the empath vows to stay clear of the coming storm. But when his doppelgänger—a top-secret genetic experiment—escapes the lab, he is yanked into the fray. His only choice is to team up with his lookalike and the cold-hard assassin who can’t stand him…
As they fend off enemy forces and puzzle out the mystery of their past, Danyael faces an impossible dilemma. Should he use his healing powers to inflict pain or will he risk a lifetime in a cage?
Perfection Unleashed is the first installment in Double Helix, a series of captivating sci-fi novels. If you like non-stop action, nuanced characters, and near-future genetic engineering, then you’ll love USA Today bestseller Jade Kerrion’s absorbing story.
Thoughts on Perfection Unleashed
This book’s blurb reads like a perfect urban fantasy (minus that last line) – but it’s not. Not in the way you may think of Kim Harrison or Ilona Andrews… this is… more.
X-Men like with all the political ramifications and brutal machinations of that faceted concept. It’s intense, far from subtle and generally geared more toward the power and sublime terror of human emotion. Interesting read.
Another small triumph. It took a series of them to make a victory. (1%)
- World building is freshly unique.
- Written in a way that can be appreciated by fans of many genres, from urban fantasy to sci-fi.
- Characters are incredibly intense.
- Sometimes hard to understand or disjointed.
- Romance? I didn’t see it.
- Felt more of a masculine writing style than feminine, but there is nothing wrong with that. Just note worthy considering the blurb.
- Hero’s are scattered and include far more than just the core cast of characters the blurb implies.
Third Person, Multiple POV
R for Violence
M/F M/F (Maybe more? There are many hero’s here)
Very interesting Sci-Fi, one that makes you think and truly consider the cost of your emotions. Free on Kindle Unlimited.
