Down & Dirty

Kat’s explosive journey comes to a close (at least THIS part of it) in this fourth and final installment of the action packed Urban Fantasy series, The Nightwatch. It’s fast, detail driven and truth heavy. Buckle up. Free on Kindle Unlimited.

What is it about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

Change is part of life, but so is death. And I’ve about had my fair share of it.
The shimmer man’s threats are coming to pass.

Question is, what the hell am I going to do about it?

A kick ass Urban Fantasy Adventure filled with fey, demons, vampires, gargoyles and golems.

Thoughts on Lay the Ghost

The Shimmer Man is making his final play and it’s devastating the paranormal, and normal, world. People are falling into unnatural slumbers, kept captive by illusions both fantastical and horrific…. and it’s getting worse. Kat knew this was coming, she faced him before, and with the ghosts falling prey to their own monster, things are galvanizing into an epic showdown that looks like it is promising to be more of a meltdown than a victory.

This final installment brings closure to this part of Kat’s tale, dragging her kicking and screaming to the end of a journey she never really wanted to take. Familiar faces return (thank you Henri!) while old friends are laid to rest. There’s pain, revelations and even secret identities – and in the end, it all makes sense, even if you almost wish it didn’t.

**I received a copy of this book from the Author and I am pleased to share my honest opinion**

Pros:

  • Answers!!!
  • Henri is back! And wiser. (And we finally get the answer to that BIG question! Ok, so maybe to two big questions…).
  • Love the addition of ancient Mythology.
  • The world is better explained.

Cons:

  • Some parts are jumbled.
  • Henri… he’s both a ‘Pro’ and a ‘Con’ to me. I get it, I really do…. especially at the end, but he still annoyed me, reasons aside.
  • Bres. Just Bres. Enough said.

My Final Verdict on Lay the Ghost

Fast paced and truly action packed, this book weaves ancient mythology with the paranormal, creating an explosive ending to a slippery tale that introduced a brand new world, while leaving the door open for further adventures.  Free on Kindle Unlimited.
