What is it about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

Imagine a world where every book is magical and every word holds power. Stories create their own Realms, places in which the characters live out their roles.

Avi is a Keeper, a designated enforcer, assigned by the Literary Guild to protect the Real world from the characters who might escape. When a talking housecat shows up in her shop one night, everything changes. Not only does he escape, but he takes his book with him! The changing rules will affect everything, including Avi’s life.

To make matters worse, the Guild sends its most exasperating and handsome Bard to investigate on the same day Avi’s favorite book boyfriends, a Shifter and a half-Demon Pirate appear in the Real. Can Avi prevent the Bard from exiling the men she’s waited so long to meet? Can she trust them all with secrets and truths she was warned to never reveal? Can they defeat the Demon Lord she unknowingly released before it causes more havoc and destruction?

Note

**This is a slow-medium burn, paranormal romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously. There’s attempts at humor, a reluctant heroine who swears a lot, and talking housecats. The leading lady has three love interests and doesn’t choose between them. #polyam #whychoose**

Thoughts on Keeper of the Pages

Literary magic

This is literary magic, quite literally – the paranormal world is run by those that wield the pens, and it’s glorious. As an avid reader and self conscious author, the notion that realms rise and fall by the purview of the creative is enticing, and giggle inducing. This is a fun ride, albeit a little bit silly.

Favorite Line

Writers are generally a daydreaming, introverted lot and not prone to thoughts of world domination, (40%)

Pros:

  • Inventive!
  • Love The characters
  • Book boyfriend…. who hasn’t done this??

Cons:

  • Bit silly and tropey

Perspective

First Person, Single POV

Ending Type

Cliffhanger

Rating

Upper YA

Romantic Dynamic

Character Age Range

My Final Verdict on Keeper of the Pages

4 out of 5 Stars

This is an enjoyable ride that plays fast and loose with the stereotypes of readers and writers…. and what we all may secretly hope about magic! It’s fun, flighty and just a touch romantic. Free on Kindle Unlimited.
