Down & Dirty

Filled with all the humor and snark Raven Kennedy is known for, while tinged with a hint of darkness and brutality. It’s a Pack of Misfits novel, but it’s more – and it’s free on Kindle Unlimited.

What is it about?

(Blurb from Amazon)

I’m kind of a bitch, but you would be too if you had my life.

I was taken as a baby and trained to become an elite member of Troupe Delirium. My time with them is as permanent as the damn collar on my neck. Until Heathcliff helps me escape.

I have nothing but the clothes on my back and the good sense to get as far away as I can. But then I stumble into someone else’s territory and get snagged by a shifter-happy cop who brings me to a pack.

Pack Aberrant. The only shifter pack in the world that would actually be willing to help me. Before I know it, I’m getting attached to an enforcer and I’m fighting for these misfits who somehow thawed my heart.

But I know better. My old master is coming for me, and Heathcliff…I can’t ever really move on without Heathcliff. I guess I won’t really need to, though. There’s no way I’m making it out of this alive.

Author’s Note:

This is book 3 in the Pack of Misfits series. Every story is a stand-alone, but it is best if you start with Addie’s book. Each book will have a different mate dynamic. (M/F, RH, or Menage.) Intended for mature audiences 18 years and older. Expect a take-no-shit female, humor, heat, and plenty of action. This one is a wild ride.

Thoughts on Jetta

Jetta, Jetta, Jetta…. we’ve seen this black and white haired bad@ss through Book 1 and Book 2, watching as she falls into the Pack, aggravates just about everyone and struggles with the idea of staying…. but those views are just from the outside. Now we get to see it from HER side, and what a side it is.

This chick is the epitome of toughness and snark. She has balls bigger than most men and a past so scarred and brutal it can scare you, and it should. Because it’s that past that made her who and what she is, and sets the ‘stage’ for a bloody dance only Jetta can truly anticipate.

It’s ugly, it’s brutal, it’s dark… and it’s sexy as hell at times. With the shackles of Troupe Delirium just a shadow around her neck, Jetta has a chance to grow – and meet new people, some who become more than she expects.

I won’t spoilt the mate dynamic here, nor will I advertise what animal this vicious shifter turns in to (what would be the fun of that?) but I will say, it is SOOOO Jetta, and truly the only thing she could be. It’s fantastic, and reaffirmed my practice of placing Raven Kennedy on my ‘one click buy’ author list.

Favorite Lines

He doesn’t take me up on my generous offer. Instead, he charges, but I’m thrilled, because it means I can hit him again. (16%)
I pass over a few of my precious last dollars and then claim the furthest booth in the corner, wearing my best Don’t Fucking Talk To Me face. It has a ninety percent success rate. (18%)

Pros:

  • Very Well Written.
  • Jetta…. EVERYTHING about her!
  • The humor melded with the dark, it’s a thing of beauty.
  • Some of the events happen at the same time as the other two stories, making them overlap – Raven does a superb job of showcasing this.
  • Addie’s duck. Enough said.
  • Him…. I want to say it, I want to say it…. I won’t say it. Just, SQUEE!!
  • I’m not normally a fan of dirty talk, but it just works here.

Cons:

  • Nothing. I adored it.

My Final Verdict on Jetta

Honestly, I love everything about this book. The characters are well drawn, the dynamic is perfect and the events that surround the pack follows a remarkable continuity between three different books. There’s darkness, there’s light, redemption and penance… everything fans of Paranormal Saga’s could ask for. Double joy? It’s on Kindle Unlimited.
