Down and Dirty
Kinda fun, Wouldn’t buy it, but a KU offer makes it worth it.
What is it about? (Blurb from GoodReads)
This. Place. Sucks.
Being hidden away in a castle, sheltered from all the very real dangers outside these walls, has some perks, but frankly? I’m sick to death of praying and eating grapes. It’s lonely, and, except for my friend Sadie, the other girls here are shallow and catty. I’d do anything to get the hell out of here. But when four warriors, the likes of which I’ve never seen, ram down the castle walls and steal me away? I can’t help but wonder if some prayers are better left unanswered…
Thoughts
25 virgins raised for a sacrifice – until one gets kidnapped…..It’s a fun and rather frolicky tale that uses her innocence in a devilishly humorous way.
While there is a lot to like with the narrative, the book itself did not speak to me. I am not sure why. All the right elements were there, but it was missing something intangible I can’t quite define. Perhaps it was the speed, or the guys, or the setting… regardless, something puts this book farther down on my list than it probably should be. Maybe you’ll love it, or be able to name what turned me off. If you do, leave a comment!
