What is it about?
(Blurb from GoodReads)
Sing, gypsies, sing of your lies…
That old song plays in my head, as the world turns around me faster than it has ever turned.
Monsters and mayhem. That’s become my life.
Fear and apprehension. That’s become the normal for those around me.
Dread and distraction. That’s what has interrupted my own personal romance story with my mon-star quad.
Vengeance and retribution. That was the theme of the monster world long before I landed in it, and it’s starting to heat up more than ever.
Jabs from a complicated, ancient past keep coming so much and so quickly that I’ve grown desensitized to them. Which is a good thing, since I’m about to need a thick skin.
I guess it’s time to see if I can handle being in the middle, because that’s where I’m about to put myself. My mother always did accuse me of being a masochist. I’m starting to think she must be right.
Either they love me, or they love her.
I suppose it’s time to find out who wins. I don’t fight pretty, and I’m not that great at smack talk.
It’s not that they’re not worth fighting for. I just don’t want to have to fight for them. Not when when I’m fighting bigger battles already. Either we’re in this together, or I’m on my own. That’s for them to decide on their own.
Let the games begin.
Thoughts
So in love with this series
Not only is the mystery picking up in this paranormal RH, so is the steam! Violet is setting her plans into action and the Alphas are struggling to catch up. It’s a beautiful sight to see and one that brings the story ever closer to completion – which is promising to be epic.
I refuse to spoil anything, especially since this was just published – but I will say that you NEED to read this series. Book 1 can be a bit confusing, but by the time you are 1/2 way through, you are invested, and can plough through to this newest release in record time – or at least I did on a reread, a reread in which I really tried to take my time to catch those small details. And the details matter…. they come back up later. Throw away lines that may or may not have stood out at the time change the entire direction of the narrative and send Violet even further down this dangerous path she has chosen. Pay attention… then hop over to C.M. Owens (Kristy Cunning is her RH pen name) FB page and join in on the conspiracy theory fun! =)
Oh, and be prepared, when you read this gem…. you may want to smack a few Alphas.

“I wonder if she poops food since she talks shit.” (34%)
Verdict

Wonderful book that hits all the rights notes and carries this amazing series forward. Read it! Please note, this is NOT a book that should be read alone or out of order.
