Down & Dirty

If you like romance and action at lightening speed, then this is the Paranormal Reverse Harem series for you. A new world, with new rules – and it’s all Free on Kindle Unlimited.

What is it about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

One rightful vampire queen. Five irresistible vampire men. Together, they’ll sever the crown – or maybe the traitor’s head that wears it.

Wren has a dark obsession—to find her mother’s murderers before they find her. Every new singing gig brings her closer to crossing their names from her list.

When a detective shows up with a new lead, she jumps at the chance with fangs bared.

But to get the info they need, they’ll have to bust someone out of jail.

Sure. No problem.

Ashe has just been framed for high crimes against the Southern Vampire Clan—but he’s not exactly innocent either.

While waiting for his fate, a five-pointed star tattoo appears on his wrist, similar to the tattoo of a stunning platinum-haired vampire. The sudden attraction between them is undeniable. Better yet, she’s just offered to free him.

Sounds like a great deal. So what’s the catch?

Turns out, as their enemies close in, the catch could very well be their lives.

Note:

EMERGENCE is a paranormal royal reverse harem romance in the SEVER THE CROWN series. Wren connects with another of her men in each book—and learns how their fates are all intricately intertwined. Each book ends in a cliffhanger.

Thoughts on Emergence

Good!!

I saw an ad for this on FaceBook and thought it sounded good – I’m glad I took the chance. Normally I like a bit more slow burn to my RH, but this is well done.

There’s instant attraction, but definitely not Insta love. There ARE questions between them, doubts and worries… which smooths the rushed feeling of lust, at least from a narrative perspective.

And those questions aren’t just for our characters, but for the reader as well. What is going on? How the heck does Zac fit in? WHY is he there? It’s all very interesting and incredibly fast paced. From page 3, this story MOVED, barely taking a moment to breathe or pause. Fortunately,  the entire series is out on Kindle Unlimited, so we don’t have to wait to get those answers.

Pros:

  • Insta-lust, but NOT insta-love, which is a trope I have issues with.
  • Zac is a curious human and breeds more questions than this narrative answers.
  • Quite funny in places.
  • The pace is quick and solid, though it doesn’t feel overly rushed… there are enough details given to form the picture the author wants you to see.

Cons:

  • Even though this wasn’t ‘rushed’, it was till awfully fast. There is no break between scenes or danger, it is all just one thing right after another.
  • Felt short.

My Final Verdict on Emergence

This world comes out of nowhere, introducing new rules and an underground ripe with deception and danger. It’s fast, intriguing, and free on Kindle Unlimited.
