Down & Dirty

The epic story of the Compasses and their mates finally comes to a dramatic conclusion in this 7th, and final installment in this sweeping saga. Action filled and romantic, it’s free on Kindle Unlimited.

What is it about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

Jacob Compass is stuck in the human world, navigating a peaceful treaty so that supernaturals are not exposed. Justice Winter reluctantly finds herself helping him with this task, all the while dreaming about punching him in his perfect, smug face. Suffice it to say, their coexistence is a challenge in many ways.

Turns out, though, that during this battle against an enemy that they can’t just kill and get rid of–annoying as it may be–they learn that they have more in common than just their fey race. More than the fact that both of them find joy in the fire element.

There’s something deeper that exists in their souls, and maybe, it might just take the end of the world for them to figure out what it is.

Thoughts on Elemental Compass

I have loved and bled with this characters for several years, and now it’s Jacob’s turn to ruin me. His brothers and their mates have captured my heart in previous installment, but Jacob was the outlier, the one most reticent to a bond… but now he has no choice, and it’s a glorious thing to watch.

Justice, a Jeweled Princess just coming into her own, has pain aplenty, enough to fracture her soul and push away the one person in the world her heart aches for. But she’s not ready for the dynamic Compass, any more than he is ready for her. This duo still needs to grow and figure out their own powers before they throw their lives at an unbreakable bond.

If only the world would let them….

The events that have been brewing and stewing across the previous 6 books (especially Louis…. that one quite literally sets the stage for book 7) comes to fruition in this final installment, and in true Jaymin Eve style, it’s a doozy… one that threatens not only Earth but the realms as well.

It’s perfect and well thought out, a book that pays homage to the journey these amazing characters have traveled, and the love the readers hold for them. The ending is not rushed or slapped together, nor is it the ONLY focus – as love is the crux and force behind this narrative.

I was satisfied to see how things fell together, and seeing the entire cast again was amazing. There are a couple of bonus epilogues that tore my heart and rebuilt it, ones that looked back at Jesse and Braxton… the couple that started it all.

This may be goodbye to this particular series, but the Supernatural Prison world lives on in spin-offs already out in the world. I’ll admit, I don’t quite love the Academy one as much as this tale, but hey – it’s Jaymin Eve, I’ll read it anyway. =)

My Final Verdict on Elemental Compass

This expansive and sweeping series comes to a dramatic conclusion in this well wrought installment. Magic, heat, danger and family – it’s the Compass way, and we get the chance to say goodbye… and thank you. Free on Kindle Unlimited.
