What is it about?
(Blurb from GoodReads)
Jacky Leon’s duty to her family is to help maintain order and to uphold the Law for her werecat father, Hasan, a member of the Tribunal.
But Jacky has a defiant streak.
To do what’s right, she’s willing to break the Law and turn her back on everything she’s been told is right. Even those around her know she’s willing to risk everything for what she believes in. All anyone can hope is for Jacky’s ideals and the Law to never clash again.
Because Jacky has another duty. A duty to blood. A duty to the bond between those who once shared a life and a face.
When her twin comes back into her life, Jacky finds herself at a cross roads. Her twin is like an echo, a strangely similar yet different version of herself.
And it seems defiance runs in the family.
Thoughts on Echoed Defiance
Jacky Leon is my hero. Seriously, I want to be HER when I grow up. As a Werecat, and arguably the biggest, baddest predator in the United States, she is a force to be reckoned with, despite her youth, inexperience and general lack of interest in all things politically paranormal. Fortunately for us, and unfortunately for her, things are changing for Jacky, forcing her to open her eyes and truly face the terrifying world she has found herself in…. and it’s one heck of a ride as she does.
You would think the events in the previous three books would have fully slapped Jacky into some semblance of spacial awareness, and they have… almost. In the beginning of book 4 you can tell she is more involved in the supernatural world, trying to accept the familial position she was granted, but she still isn’t quite THERE, if that makes sense. By the end though? Jacky Leon is truly growing up, and she is starting to understand what that really means.
From an ancient and brutal Werewolf Pack in Russia to the slow burn temptation that is Heath, this book weaves more threads in this ever growing world. Some answers are given, more questions are asked and families both new and old come into play. It’s a delicious, and sometimes dangerous, treat for everyone…. and those last few scenes? *fan squee!*

My Final Verdict on Echoed Defiance
I am not sure how Banet does it, but somehow her books just get BETTER as the series move along. Book 1 was fantastic, but now, deep in Book 4, the series is divine. Jacky is my hero and Heath is my quite unapologetic fictional book boyfriend. Well written, well thought out and action packed, this gem is Free on Kindle Unlimited.
