Down and Dirty

Awesome Series so far! Read this!

What is it about?

Stuck on the team whether they like it or not, Essie is struggling with containing her growing powers while navigating the ever complicated issues of her relationships. On one hand, she is Angel bonded to Gideon, but on the other – she is mated to Marcus. Unfortunately, her soul – and her body, cries for both… as well as for Jacob, whose Vampire Claim still runs through her veins. The Incubus Kol is a whole ‘nother set of issues… ones she can’t quite come to terms with yet, no matter what he makes her feel. It’s just his power though… right?

Add in the new presence of Gideon’s Brother, Cassius, who really, really does not want her on the JP Team and Essie has the sinking suspicion that whatever angelic luck has protected her so far -is about to run out.

Thoughts

Book 3 took the events of the first 2 and slammed it into overdrive! Not only is Essie still struggling to contain her ever growing powers while still hiding her heritage, she is bouncing along the threads of emotional and spiritual bonds the likes angels literally sing about. Things get complicated quickly, and there is very little she can do about it. She really should run… but for the first time in her life, Essie is starting to feel like she really belongs.

Perspective:

First Person, Single POV

Ending Type:

Cliffhanger….. a bloody cliffhanger!

Pros:

  • Well written.
  • Completely new concepts on familiar themes.
  • Essie, she’s awesome.
  • Building plot crescendo.
  • THAT ENDING!

Cons:

  • THAT ENDING!
  • A few minor editing issues, did not detract.
  • Book 4 not out yet… but slated for sometime in February 2019  – can you tell I’m impatient??? 😂🤷‍♀️

Verdict

4.5 out of 5 Stars

I’ll be following this series to the end, and I highly recommend it to most everyone who enjoys RH novels. It’s engaging, unique and fresh – the perfect addition to any Kindle queue!
