My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Slow/med Burn, Fantasy RH
Available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited

Down & Dirty

Things really pick up in Book 2 of this slow/med burn Reverse Harem fantasy series. With emotions high and God’s circling, life is about to get even more dangerous – or the afterlife? Still unsure of that. Free on Kindle Unlimited.

What is it about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

When the gods war, no one wins.

My three messengers took a greater risk than I realized when they agreed to help me save my village. Now they must face the consequences, and so must I.

If Kaius and Zelus go to war, it will devastate humanity… and that’s not the only danger that lurks on the horizon.

But despite the threat to our existence, the bond between me and my soulkeepers continues to deepen into something far beyond what I ever expected.

I promised myself I wouldn’t fall in love with these three beautiful, mysterious men.

I’m beginning to think it’s too late for that.

Note:

Defiance is the second book in the Her Soulkeepers series, a medium-burn reverse harem fantasy with steam, action, and romance that will melt your heart and your panties.

Thoughts on Defiance

Decent

I am really enjoying the way the fantasy wraps around this Slow/med burn RH. The world is unique, the characters compelling and the situation is far from normal.

Interested to see where this goes in book 3, especially now that 2 of the 3 men have fully caved to their feelings.

Pros:

  • World building
  • The landscape is lush, not in actuality but in description
  • How The Bond is forming

Cons:

  • Felt short.
  • Would benefit from multiple POV

Perspective

First Person, Single POV

Ending Type

Cliffhanger

My Final Verdict on Defiance

4 out of 5 Stars

Much faster than Book 1, this installment delves deeper into the workings of this world and advances the plot in just the right way. Emotional and heated, it’s free on Kindle Unlimited.
