What is it about?
(Blurb from GoodReads)
Through time and crime,
The crocodiles cried tears.
Furious hearts will not die,
Run away, my dears.Once were charmed,
Forever enslaved.
Rage! Rage!
The Fae cannot change. The heart has no mercy…
King Athon is a shifter prick.
If only my dastardly soul mate was a little less intelligent. Alas, not only is King Athon the most powerful in the realm—alongside my father—the King of Shifters is also sharp and savvy. The vigilant predator makes it difficult to hide my truths, but I am the heir to the Elf Kingdom, a top notch swindler.
I will prevail. With the five kingdoms in more trouble than we’d thought, the Misfits are even less forthcoming than usual, and all Fairy breaks loose while we search in the Caster Kingdom for the third artifact. Deep in the unsavory swamps, a deadly seduction thrives under a weeping tree. But the five rulers and I will not shirk our duty within those wicked shadows, even if we want to.
Soulmates…
My name is Trixie Towers. I utterly loathe my cruel soul mate, but the truly miraculous has happened. I’m beginning to detest the Fae even more than him.
Thoughts on Crypts and Crimes
Is there anything better than the pull and yank of forbidden attraction? This isn’t forbidden love, oh no, for these two surely do NOT like each other, at all. They are enemies in the truest sense of the word, yet fate has thrown them together and bound their souls as one. It’s a mess, it’s impossible and it very well might be the end of their worlds.
Book 3 grabs the narrative and thrusts it forward, dragging the rulers of this fantasy land further on their quest to find the relics and save their kingdoms. Trixie and Athon, as heir and ruler alike, are forced together by this circumstance, and their own misfortunes – gifting us with pages filled with snark, heat and danger. It’s truly a magical delight, but I can feel the pendulum swinging and the secret about to break. People are discovering what they want to keep hidden, and what an evil little notion that is.
Pros:
- Trixie. Athon. I love them both. I despise them both. It’s perfect.
- Trixie’s relationship with her father, for the most part. Its snarky, humor filled and loving, even if she doesn’t’ see it.
- They start to see ‘more’ in each other in this book!!!!
Cons:
- Ok, I really didn’t understand the whole tree thing….
- That final scene with her dad, oh no…
Perspective:
First Person, Multiple POV
Ending Type:
Cliffhanger
Rating:
Adult
Romantic Dynamic:
M/F
Character Age Range:
Adult
My Final Verdict on Crypts and Crimes
This is far more than a guilty pleasure and drama filled saga – it’s a true enemies-to-lovers trope, and it’s fantastic. It’s a train wreck you can’t look away from, and it’s so well written, you won’t want to. Free on Kindle Unlimited.
