Down & Dirty

Vampires, fate and giants….it’s a fast paced ride, and it’s free on Kindle Unlimited.

What is it about?

(Blurb from GoodReads)

One newly-turned female vampire.
Four powerful males hiding dark secrets.
Alone, each is lost, but together their passion and power ignite, changing all five and the entire vampire world, forever.

I’m alone on the streets when a vampire drains me and leaves me for dead. Somehow I transition without help from my Maker—that’s not supposed to be possible—but life as a lone, female vampire is harsh, staying out of sunlight and hunted by both the predatory vamp syndicates and the human police—who have orders to stake vampires on sight.

Things go from bad to worse when I’m captured by an evil vampire king who declares I’ll be his mate. When I refuse to marry him, I’m punished for months.

Near death, I escape, pursued by the king’s most vicious guard.

I’m weak from starvation when Rock, a giant, ruggedly-handsome man finds me in the alley and offers me sanctuary. But while his looks and kindness ignite passion inside me and soon capture my heart, it becomes clear that Rock’s not actually human and has dark, painful secrets of his own that keep him from giving me what my body most desires.

Rock introduces me to his charming and elegant vampire friend Grayson, who sweeps me off my feet, quite literally, with offers to feed me, bed me, and help me develop my power. Gray has everything my body craves, but he’s hiding secrets, too, and while he gives me such pleasure, I fear he may never offer his heart.

The three of us stay one step ahead of the vampire king and the human cops, who are searching for a vampire serial killer. My quest for safety is derailed when I grab the attention of Colton, a hunky, clean-cut cop, who has vowed to kill every vampire alive. I can’t deny how hard I’m drawn to Colton—a human—but at least he doesn’t recognize what I am.

Not yet.

And I can’t shake my suspicion that Pike, the vicious but sexy guard, who facilitated my escape from the king’s dungeon, is lurking in the shadows, watching me, and waiting for his chance to take me back.

**Bound by her Blood is book one in a hot new vampire paranormal romance series. Expect a dark, steamy, reverse harem (why choose) romance with each relationship developing at its own pace.**

My Thoughts on Bound by Her Blood

I heard about this series in a Facebook Group and I am rather glad I followed it up! Though some readers tagged it as a ‘Dark’ read, I found it more ‘shadowed’ than anything. There is certainly mention of torture and physical (sexual) abuse, but the actuality of it is NOT in the reader’s face, though a trigger warning is warranted.

Overall, this is a very interesting plot, with action that slams right out of the gate. The romance also happens quickly, with a ‘ever after’ feel striking fairly fast – yet is somehow works well with these characters, and what they bring to the table.

A bit fast, yet well done.

My Final Verdict on Bound by Her Blood

Decent Vampire Reverse Harem with darker themes, though it is not truly a ‘dark’ read. Fast and rather romantic – it’s free on Kindle Unlimited.
